Our Story
Dock Doctors has been a family-owned and locally operated business in Northern Wisconsin since 1987. My dad started this business and as a kid, I quickly took a great interest in the trade while going to work with him. Over 10 years later, I took over full-time and have been growing Dock Doctors ever since. Dock Doctor prides itself on being the experts in permanent docks and boathouses, putting great value on hard work and integrity.
What Makes Us Stand Out?
With decades of experience, we specialize in new permanent pier construction, boat shelters, boat house restoration, decks, stairs, and walkways, as well as existing permanent dock repairs, and shoreline stabilization. We are set apart from our competitors, not only in the quality and longevity of our structure but also in the use of Tamarack logs for pilings. Tamarack is a superior option as it is a very hard, yet flexible wood with a natural resistance to rotting as they grow in wet swampy areas. We are also open to other piling options, depending on your preferences. All pilings are jetted down a minimum of 10 feet and you can choose from a variety of decking materials including green-treated pine, cedar-tone pine, or composite materials. We also recently added a custom-made barge to virtually handle any pilings and other projects!

I’m Tom Goehe and I’ve been in this business since 1987. I grew up in Eagle River, WI, and currently reside in Conover with my wife of over 12 years and our 5 amazing kids. I run Dock Doctors with the help of loyal, experienced, hard-working guys and my wife Lauren. Even our kids, especially our two boys, absolutely love it when they occasionally get to come to work with dad, which reminds me of the times growing up going to jobs with my dad as a kid. On a rare day off we enjoy spending quality time as a family camping, hunting and fishing, four-wheeling, and gardening. We try to “live off the land” of the beautiful Northwoods as much as possible and have created our own little homestead farm and garden to help provide for our family.
